NEIGHBORHOOD RENTAL Program
Free space use to individuals and organizations with limited budgets
Neighborhood Rentals happen Mondays and Wednesdays with start and end times between 2 and 10pm (including setup and breakdown). Events can be public or private, and must be free to attend. Tech is limited to one wireless microphone, lighting system, and music playback.
Event examples that fall into this tier:
dance, yoga, or movement workshops
acoustic or acapella music performances
theater rehearsals and workshops
organizational meetings and retreats
Event examples that do not fall into this tier:
recurring series
ticketed events
fundraising events

Commercial RENTALS
Paid space use for individuals or organizations with medium to large budgets
Paying our full rental rate makes it possible to offer the space at lower cost to small organizations and working class artists, and supports NorthStar’s signature programming.
Commercial Rentals include full use of space, audio visual and backline equipment, and staff support for event cleanup. Event types are open to private, ticketed, or public events of all disciplines. For events that require more than one microphone and music playback, a sound tech will be required at a rate of $50 per hour. You have the option of adding a site manager to your event for a rate of $50 per hour. The site manager will provide a basic day-of timeline for your event, including setup and breakdown, as well as day-of support. We require 4 weeks advance notice for events in this category.
We encourage renters to consider a monthly donation to our Patreon to further our mission and support working class artists of color. Patreon subscribers receive a discount on rentals.
