In Artist Talk as Performance, Majesty Royale-Jackson and guest artist Sia Moon reimagine the traditional artist talk into a space for improvisation, experimentation, and collective exchange. Reflecting the improvisational and experimental methods central to Majesty's artistic practice, the gathering deconstructs the delineations between artist and audience through an open “conversation” that may unfold through spoken prompts, dance, sound, movement, or other expressions that emerge in the moment.
The gathering creates space to explore the ideas informing Majesty's solo exhibition, gleamin’: And none is barren among them, without confining that exploration to explanation or discussion. As questions and responses take different forms, the exchange invites participants to explore how knowledge can be shared through the body, how listening extends beyond spoken language, and what becomes possible when communication is not limited to a single form.
Participation is entirely optional. Attendees are welcome to contribute, listen, observe, or simply be present.

About Sia Moon
Sia Moon is a multidisciplinary artist and designer working across furniture and spatial design, 3D printing, murals, dance, tarot, and filmmaking. Their practice explores how our bodies interact with the spaces around us and how these environments shape our experiences and relationships with one another. As an autistic person of color, Sia emphasizes sensory awareness and intentional design, examining how creative interventions can encourage curiosity, invite participation, and foster connection. Their work also considers how existing community spaces influence those who inhabit them and how greater spatial awareness can create opportunities for belonging.
Artist Talk as Performance is presented as part of gleamin’: And none is barren among them, Majesty Royale-Jackson's solo exhibition in NorthStar Church of the Arts' 2026 Spotlight Exhibition Series.
